In fact, he was instrumental in helping the company set up a dedicated meat factory to supply McDonald’s. By the 1980’s Lavin was instrumental in opening units in other countries such as China, Mexico, Poland, Germany, Spain, and Brazil. Along with all this growth, the company acquired several food processing companies in these countries, which is when Lavin changed the name to OSI Group. By the late 1990’s Sheldon Lavin bought the entire company from Otto’s sons and is now the CEO of OSI Group.
